IBEDC Restores Electricity To UCH, Gives Reason

The University College Hospital, UCH, Ibadan has been reconnected with electricity supply by the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC).

Recall that the power company disconnected the power supply to the teaching hospital over an accumulated bill of N495 million.

It was gathered that the reconnection was done on Thursday.

The Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Prof. Jesse Otegbayo, who confirmed the development to journalists said “Yes; it has been reconnected”.

The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) said the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan has paid 10 per cent of its indebtedness and subsequently a payment plan has been worked out.

The IBEDC spokesperson, Busolami Tunwase said she wished the hospital fulfilled its own side of the agreement.

She said: ‘’They have paid ten per cent out of their debt and we have worked out a workable payment plan. We wish they fulfil their own side of the agreement’’.
