“I Was At EFCC On Routine Visit, Not Arrested Or Detained” Ibadan Chief, Adanla Reacts To Media Report

An Ibadan Chief, Mogaji Abduljelyl Adekunle Kareem Adanla says he was only at the Ibadan office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Wednesday as part of his routine visit to the antigraft agency to aid investigation on former Oyo Deputy Governor’s lodge contract.

Mogaji Adanla made this known while denying a media report that he was detained by the EFCC in Ibadan on Wednesday.

Speaking further on the report, he noted that even though he regularly visits the EFCC office in Ibadan since a bogus petition was submitted against him, he claimed he was not arrested or detained yesterday.

“I was invited by the EFCC on the 17th of december based on the bogus petition sponsored by someone that used to be powerful in this present government and I was interrogated. After that I felt so aggrieved so I submitted a petition to the House of Assembly regarding his intimidation and corrupt dealings”

In his words, “my take is that, it is expected of being a the key witness to the lawful impeachment of the erstwhile deputy Governor of the state, after such, you don’t go home to sleep. I said that all I know is construction, and I major in project management, before you embark on any construction project, you have to do a risk assessment to identify the risk and mitigate against them.”
