Hoodlums Attack Sanwo-Olu’s Convoy As Oyo APC Guber Candidate, Folarin, Condemns Attack

The 2023 governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and lawmaker representing Oyo Central senatorial district, Senator Teslim Folarin has strongly condemned attack on Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s convoy by hoodlums.

The bus conveying press crew of Lagos State Governor’s Office on Sunday was attacked by hoodlums between Ebute-Ero and Adeniji, Iga-Iduganran axis on Lagos Island, leaving no fewer than two journalists wounded.

The press crew bus joined other vehicles conveying dignitaries, including 2023 APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu; Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu; Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje; and others, who had just left the palace of Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwanu Akiolu.

Newsarena.ng also gathered that Western Post correspondent, Ms. Adeola Ogunrinde and Omatseye Atsenuwa of Smooth 98’1fm got wounded, while Adedoja Salam of TVC went into shock due to heavy bombardment of stones and bricks thrown at the press crew bus, leaving the windscreen and nearly all the side screens broken and vandalized

Folarin, in a statement made available to journalists on Sunday evening, described the attack as politically-motivated.

“The attack on the press crew of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s convoy is utterly condemnable. It’s a politically motivated and criminal act.

“I urge the law enforcement agencies to fish out the perpetrators and bring them to book as it will serve as a deterrent to others”.
