Healthcare on The Roll: Mobile Truck Clinic Reaches Four Oyo LGAs (See List)

In a major boost to community health, the HPV Consortium at the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan (CoMUI), in collaboration with Northwestern University, USA, and the Oyo State Primary Health Care Board, has rolled out the second round of its Mobile Truck Clinic across four Local Government Areas in the State.
Fully funded by the John F. Flanagan Foundation, the initiative is aimed at bridging the healthcare gap by bringing free, high-quality medical screening directly to 1,000 residents in Kajola, Iseyin, Ibadan North East, and Ibadan North LGAs.
According to a statement by the Organizer, the outreach focuses on the prevention and early detection of critical health conditions which include Cervical Cancer Screening: HPV-based self-sampling tests, Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) Screening: Diagnostics and assessments for diabetes and hypertension.
The project is jointly led by Professor Oludare Morhason-Bello of the HPV Consortium and Professor Lifang Hou, Director of the Center for Global Oncology at Northwestern University, Chicago.
They are supported by a distinguished team of co-investigators, including former Minister of Health Professor Isaac Adewole, Professor Femi Ogunbiyi, and Professor Moses Adewumi, alongside a dedicated medical team from the HPV Consortium.
Addressing the purpose of the outreach, the organizers noted that the mobile clinic was specifically designed to serve populations with limited access to tertiary health institutions.
The team also expressed appreciation to the State Advisory Board—led by Chief Bisi Adesola alongside Dr. Dele Busari, Dr. Basheer Olanrewaju, Dr. Muideen Olatunji, Chief Yanju Adegbite, and Mrs. Delayo Adetunji-Oriekun—for their strategic guidance and support in driving the initiatiative.
