Group Condemns Cabal Gang Up Against Tinubu, Assures Adequate Support, Mobilization

Better Oyo Movement (BOM), a frontline sociopolitical group in the state has assured all Nigerians that no matter the depth of the gang-up, or extent of the plots and schemes against the victory of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in February’s presidential polls, all will come to nought, as God, and the good people of Nigeria were solidly behind the former Lagos governor. “As the voice of the people is the voice of God, we’re confident this is Asiwaju’s time to mount the saddle of our nation’s leadership,” the group hinted.

While commenting on insinuations that an unnamed cabal was all out to stop the victory of Tinubu, with plots and schemes thickening daily, the group, whose release was signed by its Chairman, Dr. Femi Fakunle and Secretary, Engr. Tunji Hammed, rising from its meeting in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, on Friday, 17 February, 2023, maintained that with the groundswell of support the Jagaban Borgu was receiving from all nooks and corners of Nigeria, his victory is most assured.

“While we condemn in its entirety every gang-up against a man whose contribution to the sociopolitical development of Nigeria is topnotch, character unimpeachable, and competence obvious, we want to assure him, and indeed fellow Nigerians, that our support for his candidature, and mobilisation for his victory remains unfettered, and that we shall, God helping us, devote our time, energy and resources to the realization of his mandate.

“We know that of the leading presidential candidates, only Tinubu has the competence, capacity and charisma for the job, with his track record of excellence as governor of Nigeria’s prime state, big player in the nation’s oil industry, and fearless commitment to the pro-democracy struggle, setting him apart from the likes of Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi. Who can forget how Tinubu risked his private liberties for the enthronement of democracy, or the institutional reforms most states of the federation have now adopted?

“Besides, why would there be a gang-up against him, if not that the cabal knows he’ll win? As no one stones a fruitless tree, the cabal hatching all these sinister plans know whom the shoe sizes, and the cap fits, hence their helter skelter run to stop him.

“However, we have nothing for them but sympathies, as we’re confident the Nigerian people have already fallen in love with the plans, policies, programmes and person of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, and will, by the grace of God, vote him massively come Saturday, 25 February, 2023 as their president-in-waiting,” BOM said

While commending the people of Oyo State, especially residents of Ibadan and environs for trooping out enmasse to attend Asiwaju Tinubu’s presidential campaign rally which took place on Thursday, 16 February, 2023 at the ancient Mapo Hall, the group urged them to translate their massive attendance at the rally to massive votes during the presidential election, as that was the only way traducers and schemers will know that the people stood solidly behind the Jagaban Borgu.

“Our support for Tinubu transcends ethnicity or religion, rather, it is premised upon our belief in his capacity to deliver the goods, and to turnaround the fortunes of our people. By renewing the hopes of our people, we’re confident he’ll set Nigeria on the journey to greatness. To that end, we sincerely urge voters to thread this path, by voting in Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as Nigeria’s next president,” BOM appealed.
