Gov. Makinde Promises To Complete Ido-Eruwa Road Before… • Announces Immediate Release Of N2bn To Contractor

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state has announced the immediate release of N2 billion for the immediate completion of Ido-Eruwa Road project.

He said the money is to allow the contractor speed up the completion of the road.

Governor Makinde made the statement on Thursday during the commissioning of the Eruwa Agribusiness Industrial Hub in Ibarapa East local government area of the state

The governor promised the residents of Ibarapa that the road project would be completed and commissioned before he ended his administration.

“I left Abuja at 8 am this morning and landed at Ibadan airport at 9 am and headed straight here, and I got here exactly 2 hours later.

“I passed through Ido-Eruwa road. I have approved that 2 billion naira should be released to the contractor so that all people coming to Ibarapa during the festive period will have a smooth journey, and I will ultimately approve the complete reconstruction of the 48-kilometer stretch.

” Since you want the road to be like Iseyin to Ogbomoso and Iseyin to Oyo roads, in less than a year, it will look like the roads. So, we look forward to it coming soon. I started the project and I will not leave it for the next administration. So, the road will be done and commissioned before I leave office.

Recall that, the Ido-Eruwa Road project was flagged off on 2 February 2023 by Governor Makinde and earlier estimated to be completed by Q4 2024.

The road formed part of Governor Makinde’s led administration to link all five zones in Oyo State to reduce rural-urban migration and increase economic activities in the State.
