Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has appealed for calm and assured residents of Akinlalu in Ife North Local Government Area, that his administration remains fully committed to peace, justice, and the rule of law.
Governor Adeleke made the appeal when he led a high-powered government delegation to Akinlalu following the recent communal unrest that unsettled the ancient town.

Visibly moved by the extent of the crisis, the Governor declared that his government would not tolerate any act of violence or lawlessness capable of undermining the peace and unity for which Osun State is renowned.

He disclosed that an impartial investigation into the incident has already commenced, stressing that all those found culpable will face the full weight of the law.
“Our duty as a government is to protect lives and property. We are committed to ensuring justice and preventing a recurrence,” he affirmed.
The Governor reiterated his administration’s focus on peacebuilding and dialogue-driven conflict resolution, emphasizing that no individual or group, regardless of status, will be allowed to take the law into their own hands.
He called for collaboration with security agencies to forestall future crises, expressing optimism that enduring peace would soon return to Akinlalu.
Governor Adeleke also commended the swift response of security agencies, which he said prevented further escalation of the crisis.
In his remarks, the Alakinlalu of Akinlalu, Oba Israel Oloyede, thanked the Governor for his prompt intervention and compassionate leadership, describing the visit as an act of true statesmanship that has restored confidence in the government’s ability to protect its citizens.
Oba Oloyede who assured that the traditional council and the people of Akinlalu would continue to uphold peace and fully cooperate with government efforts, prayed for divine wisdom for Governor Adeleke and his team in steering the state toward stability and progress.
