First Female Nigerian Major General Buried In Ogun

Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Toareed Lagbaja has called on both serving and retired military officers to always live exemplary lives that will remain evergreen after they depart the world.

Lieutenant Lagbaja made the call at the burial of The first female Nigerian Major General, Aderonke Kale, held at St James Anglican Church, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State.

The Chief of Army staff who was represented by the Commander, Corp of Signal, Major General Gbeminga Adesina stated that the Late Major General had lived an exemplary life worthy of emulation.

General Lagbaja who said that the demise of Late Retired Major General Kale was a great lost to the Nigerian Army and the Nation at large, stated that she was committed and dedicated to the service of the Nation which she served and rose in rank in the Nigerian Army.

The Service of songs and tribute night was held on 16 January 2024 at Admiralty Conference Centre, Victoria Island Lagos, while the Christian wake was held at Chapel of the Resurrection Hall, University of Ibadan.

Also in attendance were the General Officer Commanding 2 Division Nigerian Army Major General Bamidele Alabi and other Senior Officers and Commanders of the Nigerian Army.

Late General Kale who was the first female Major General of the Nigerian Army died on 8th November 2023 at the age of eighty four (84).
