A widow in Tinuola Street, Onola Community, Ado‑Ekiti, has been left homeless after the only building left by her husband was completely razed by fire.
The fire, according to tenants and some community members, started at about one o’clock in the midnight from the roof of the kitchen of one of the tenants.

All efforts by the community and firefighters to put out the fire proved abortive as all valuables were burnt beyond repair.

The widow, whose husband died in August, was emotionally down and couldn’t respond to interview.
However, a former Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Ekiti State Council, Mr. Ayo Ajiboye, who is the spokesman for the community, described the incident as unfortunate and called on the government to support the widow and her children.
