Fire Guts LAUTECH Teaching Hospital, Ogbomoso

A fire that started at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Teaching Hospital in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, has damaged property valued at millions of naira.

Reports state that the incident happened early on Saturday morning as it was learned that the hospital’s Emergency and Accident Unit was badly affected by the fire.

Millions of naira were said to have been destroyed, along with certain office supplies, books, engines, electrical devices, and the roof and ceiling.

Newsarena.ng learnt that the fire outbreak started at one of the stairs of the accident and emergency unit

It was learnt that about 16 patients had to be quickly rushed out of the ward.

Meanwhile, the Public Relations Officer of the hospital, Omotayo Ogunleye confirmed the incident to DAILY POST Saturday saying normalcy has returned to the hospital.

He said, “Yes it is true. It is a minor incident. But, normal activities have resumed in the hospital.”
