Tafa Balogun, a former inspector general of police who passed away in Lagos yesterday, will be buried in his hometown Ila-Orangun, Osun state, tomorrow.
His relatives made this known to newsmen.
A younger brother to the late IGP, Alhaji Yekini Lawal, told newsmen that the remains of the police boss were being expected in Ila community of Osun State on Saturday.
Lawal, in an interview on Friday, further said, “We are still expecting our family members living in Ibadan and Lagos. Most likely, his burial may take place on Saturday. We are already making arrangements for that in Ila.”
The late Balogun, the 19th Inspector General of Police, passed away from a heart attack at the Reddington Hospital in Lagos at around 8:30 p.m.
This was barely three days to his 75th birthday.
Late Balogun was installed as the Oluomo of Igbomina in Ila-Orangun, at the palace of the Orangun of Ila, Alayeluwa, Oba Wahab Oyedotun, Bibire II, recently.
He was born on August 8, 1947, at Ila-Orangun in Osun State.
