Eruwa Communities Declare Curfew.

As parts of efforts aimed at curbing social vices, the Eruwa communities in Ibarapa East Local Government of Oyo State have declared 11pm to 5am curfew.

This resolution was made during a community town hall security meeting organised by Eruwa Youth Development Mission under the leadership of Com. Kazeem Tijani.

The pertinent meeting was attended by high ranking figures in Eruwa including the Eleruwa of Eruwa, Oba Samuel Adebayo Adegbola, Olurin Ajobo (JP); Hon. Kazeem Owolabi Arogundade, Executive Chairman of Ibarapa East Local Government; Hon.(Mrs) Rachael Oyenike Azeez, Leader of the House; Chief Olayide Ojedapo, baale of Aborerin, Eruwa; Chief Seun Peluola, Chairman, Eruwa Elders Council; Elder Oladeni, Secretary, Eruwa Elders Council; Alh. Olatunji Kasali, Chief of Staff to the Chairman.

The security agencies including the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Eruwa; Amotekun corps; LG vigilante; Civil Defence Corps; DSS and others who spoke at the meeting commendable the enlarged security town hall meeting, promising to exert influence to prevent crime rate at Eruwa town.

In his address, the executive chairman of Ibarapa East local government expressed displeasure over the incessant stealing at Eruwa and its environs, adding that the government was working restlessly at ensuring that the crime rate was reduced to the barest minimum.

The council chairman said government would soon recruit more security guards to curb all forms of social vices, saying that aside the security that would be approved by Oyo State Government, he would still work on how to get more security men across Eruwa town.

In his speech, the Eleruwa of Eruwa,(HRM), Oba Samuel Adegbola, Olurin Ajobo1 admonished parents and guardians to warn their wards not to stay late outside and to desist from bad behaviour capable of tarnishing their image and that of their parents.

The paramount traditional ruler also warned that nobody should come to him to plead with law enforcement agents if their wards are caught either stealing or staying outside late.

The president of Eruwa Youth Development Mission, Mr. Kazeem Tijani reaffirmed that the 11pm-5am curfew has taken effect immediately.

He also added that nobody is expected to be outside after 11pm except the security officers on duty; the sick person or women who might be in labour.

The community also resolved that the gate should be erected at the entrance roads of Eruwa and that all communities at Eruwa town should hire security guards to complement those recruited by the government.
