CVR: INEC Seeks Stakeholders’ Collaboration On Rotational Movement Of Voter Enrollment Device In Oyo

Ahead of the commencement of the rotational movement of INEC Voter Enrolment Device, IVED, Machines for the second phase of the Continuous Voter Registration, exercise in Oyo State, INEC Residents Electoral Commissioner, Professor Adeniran Tella has solicited the support of major stakeholders.

Speaking at a Stakeholders’ meeting at INEC’s Secretariate, Agodi, Ibadan, Professor Tella said the gathering became necessary for the Commission to build a credible voter register and record indispensable success.

He said for the second phase, the IVED machines will be moved systematically across registration areas in wards, starting from Monday the 2nd Feb. to Friday, 10th April 2026 from 9am to 3pm daily excluding weekends and public holidays.

He said “Instead of a static approach, our INEC Voter Enrolment Device (IVED machines will become “Mobile Units”. These machines will move systematically across all 351 registration Areas (RAs) in the State, according to the pre-designed schedule.

“The IVED rotation schedule will address the peculiar challenges in the State, taking into consideration the number of Polling Units (PUs) in each Registration Area, voters’ strength, registrants’ turnout and importantly, the security of men and materials at the selected Registration Areas.

“The last week of the phase II CVR exercise, will be conducted at both State Office and LGA Offices respectively.

“It should also be noted that, the schedule for the movement will be uploaded on the INEC website for easy accessibility by the prospective registrants on www.cvr.inecnigeria.org. Importantly, the venue and dates for each respective RA will also be pasted across each of the Local Government Area Offices’ Notice Board for direction.

The Stakeholders’ meeting had in attendance Political Parties and Security Personnels, NGOs/CSOs, Traditional Leaders, Religious Leaders, Market Women/Men, Youths, People Living with Disabilities (PWDs).

The meeting is also expected to be replicated at respective INEC local government Offices across the State to enhance effective dissemination of information, deployment of security men and materials at the agreed venues and dates for each RA.
