College Of Agric. Igboora, Gets New Rector, Principal Officers

The appointment of Prof. Akinola Kehinde Akinlabi as rector of the Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora, as well as three other Principal Officers has been approved by Engr. Seyi Makinde, the Executive Governor of Oyo State.

The Registrar, Mr. Rasheed Fasasi Adenrele Adeniji, the Librarian, Dr. Olatundun Oluwatoyin Oyewumi, and the Director of Works, Engr. Salaam Dauda Adeniran, are the other Principal Officers.

The appointment is effective as of December 14, 2022, according to a letter dated December 16, 2022, and signed by Mrs. Olubamiwo Adeosun, Secretary to the State Government.

“The tenure is for the appointment shall be five years in accordance with the terms and conditions of the office and status as spelt out in the relevant laws of the institution.”

While extending her congratulations to the Rector, Mrs. Olubamiwo Adeosun remarked that the government expects him to carry out his responsibilities with the utmost loyalty, commitment, and professionalism in order to improve the institution’s current standing.

In keeping with the goals of the Oyo State Government, the government also appealed for the maintenance of peace and continued development of the institution.

Prof. Akinola Kehinde Akinlabi is an Oyo State native who is from Igboora in the Ibarapa Central Local Government area.

He had his primary and secondary school educations at Local Authority Primary School Igboora and Igboora High School Igboora respectively before, proceeding to the then, Ogun State Polytechnic, now Moshood Abiola Polytechnic for his Advanced Level studies in 1986.

He got admitted into the University of Lagos, Akoka in 1987 and graduated in 1991 with a BSc degree in Chemistry Education.

After completing his Bachelor’s degree, he proceeded for his NYSC in Kaduna and in 1992, he secured admission into the University of Benin (Uniben) for his Master’s degrees in Industrial Chemistry and in Business Administration, which he completed in 1995 and 1996 respectively.
