As the nation commemorates Children’s Day 2025, the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Oyo State Directorate, celebrates the promise and inherent potential of every Nigerian child with a renewed call for quality education, moral guidance, and inclusive policies that place children at the epicentre of national development.
Speaking during a special Children’s Day broadcast on a Radio programme, Alhaji Isiaka Kehinde, Deputy Director, Media and Communication, emphasized that education is not just a right—it is the most powerful tool for carving a better future for our children.

“On this day, we celebrate not just our children, but the commitment to the future development of our state and the nation at large ,” He noted.

“If we truly want to build a Nigeria that is united, progressive, and peaceful, we must begin with the inclusive education of every child—regardless of status , background, or gender disparities.
Referencing articles 28 and 29 of the United Nation’s Declaration of the Rights of the Child, NOA Oyo reminded citizens that access to education is a universal right that must be protected and expanded. The agency also stressed the importance of continuous sensitization and public enlightenment, ensuring parents and guardians understand the life-changing impact of early and sustained learning.
In a creative addition to the event, NOA introduced Amwakoli, a superhero character designed to inspire children to embrace learning, courage, and patriotism.
“Our children are watching. What we teach them today—through words, actions, and institutions – these informal education will shape the Nigeria leaders we desire tomorrow,” the Deputy Director added. “Education is the seed of civilization. Let us all be gardeners.”
In conclusion, the agency called on policymakers, educators, traditional leaders, and civil society to invest more deeply in education, particularly rural and backwater communities across Oyo State.
NOA Oyo reaffirmed its commitment to ongoing advocacy, outreach, skills development, and other youth engagement programs.
As Children’s Day is celebrated across the state, NOA Oyo reminds every citizen: “a nation that educates its children secures its future.”
