Goods worth millions of Naira have been lost to a fire incident at a Major Stationery Market in Dugbe area, Ibadan, Oyo State.

According to an eyewitness, who identified himself as Kunle, the incident occurred last night when a black Lexus Car rammed into a street light pole, cut into two and the side with the fuel tank flipped into the stationery shops opposite the Nigeria Railway station, and burnt at least 17 shops.

The witness said the Oyo State Fire Service team worked vehemently to extinguish the fire but later ran out of water


He said the fire Service Team used more than fourteen tanks of water but due to the goods which were majorly papers, they could not quench the fire totally.
He explained that he witnessed the accidents and saw the two passengers of the Lexus car crawling out of the car with minor injuries on their legs.
A visit to the scene this morning by Radio Nigeria Environment Correspondent, confirmed the incident as Smokes were still visibly coming out from the burnt shops.
Some of the shops owners were seen crying and Wailing, describing the incidents as unfortunate, especially with the present situation in the Country.
The Market is known for selling stationeries, Papers, computer Sets and Laptops.
