The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has declared candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Monday Okpebholo as winner of the Edo state governorship election.
The electoral umpire said the APC candidate secured 291,667 votes to defeat Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who got 247,274 and Olumide Akpata of the Labour Party (LP) who came a distant third in the race with 22,761 votes.
Meanwhile as at 08:47 pm on Sunday, A PDP agent, Tony Iyoha, called for the suspension of the entire election in Edo State over alleged irregularities.
Professor Faruk Kuta, the returning officer and vice chancellor, Federal University of technology, Minna declared the winner of the poll after series of recesses
