The Ayedero of Yorubaland, Honourable Shina Peller, on Monday paid homage to the newly crowned Alaafin of Oyo, His Imperial Majesty, Oba, Abimbola Akeem Owoade I.
Recall that there was a news report a few days ago questioning the absence of Ayedero Shina Peller from the coronation of Oba Owode as the 46th Alaafin of Oyo.

However, Hon. Peller, who stormed the Alaafin’s palace in company of supporters and allies, clarified that his absence at the coronation was not a disregard for the momentous occasion but rather due to his unavailability in the country at the time.

Furthermore, he stated that he recognizes the importance of the king’s ascension to the throne not only for the cultural heritage of the ancient Oyo town, but also for the unity and growth of the Yoruba people.
During his visit, Hon. Peller took the opportunity to outline his stewardship as the Ayedero of Yorubaland—a title he has held since being installed by the late Alaafin, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III, in August 2021.
He referenced the Ayedero Peace Tour, where he visited Northern states affected by banditry and terrorism, engaging with traditional rulers, youth, and the Police to address core issues and provide essential materials to those in need.
Peller stated that his chieftaincy title as the Ayedero of Yorubaland (Promoter of peace and prosperity) necessitated his move to fostering peaceful co-existence among Nigerians.
Moreover, he explained that the tour served not only as an avenue to appeal to the youths to work towards peace, but also helped to bridge the gap among youths across all tribes.
Ayedero Peller extended his heartfelt congratulations once more to the revered king, prayed for a peaceful and prosperous reign beneficial to all indigenes of Oyo and beyond.
The late Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III on August 2021 Installed the Oke Ogun-born businessman cum politician, Shina Peller, as Ayedero Of Yorubaland and his wife, Ayobola Peller as the Yeye Ayedero of Yorubaland.
