AWEAA Presents Food Stuffs, Toiletries, Cash To Women Street Sweepers In Ibadan To Celebrate Int’l Women’s Day

The academy for women entrepreneurs, an association of United States consulate exchange women programme has celebrated the 2026 international women’s day with women street sweepers in Ibadan.

At the event held OYOWMA office in Ibadan, the association donated food stuff, toiletries and cash gift to the women

In an address, the Oyo state representatives, academy for women entrepreneurs, Dr. Adekunbi Omotosho said the initiative was to remember the sacrifices of the women sweepers at ensuring a clean environment.

Dr Omotosho who said the association is a US consulate initiative that trains women entrepreneurs explained that the event was also put together to put smile on the faces of the women street weepers.

Also speaking Mrs Oluwakemi Oyebamji said the idea was to let the women feel loved because they are worth celebrating

She said the work they do is a means of livelihood hence the need to encourage them

Reacting, OYOWMA Chairman Hon Adeniyi Akanbi Biiro appreciated the organization that celebrate the sweepers on international women day.

The Chairman also encouraged the sweepers to do their job diligently for people to notice their good work.
