An author and marriage counselor, Dr. Akinlolu Akinade has described marriage and family as fundamental tools to people’s lives and building blocks of the society.
Dr. Akinade made this known while delivering his speech in Ibadan at the launching of his book titled “10 Cs of Successful Marriage (For Singles and Married)”
He said the strength of a community, society or nation is influenced in large measure by the strength of its smallest unit, that of the family.
He said “When marriages break up and families disintegrate, the strength and fabric of society begins to weaken. The strengthening and securing of marriages and families are therefore vital, both to the local church and the larger community.
“Marriage is not a cure to the emotional problems you have. In fact, marriage will only expose and aggravate emotional weaknesses. Hence, it is best to identify, face up to and deal with negative emotions, attitudes and behaviors before you enter into marriage.
the ’10 Cs’ are not just concepts to be learned, but principles to be lived. They invite us to look at our relationships with fresh eyes and an open heart, encouraging growth, understanding, and deeper connection.

“For me, I believe so much in the power of a well-laid plan. This really helped me in making the book come out great. For almost three years, have been a night owl, consistently burning the midnight oil. This seems to be very demanding, but it really helped me put my thoughts together in the best manner possible.
“When I began writing, my goal and desire was to see that marriages thrive in this troubled world.
