Another Reps’ Member From Oyo, ‘Odidiomo’ Dumps PDP

The member representing Ibadan North-west/Ibadan South-west federal constituency of Oyo state in the House of Representatives, Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Stanley Olajide, has formally resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).


This made it the second house of representatives member from Oyo state resigning from the party within 24hrs.

The resignation of the federal lawmaker, popularly known as Odidiomo, was conveyed in a letter dated May 5, 2026, and addressed to the Chairman of the PDP, Ward 11, Ibadan south-west local government area of Oyo state.

In the letter, Olajide said his decision followed extensive consultations with political associates, supporters and constituents.

According to him, the decision, though difficult, became necessary in view of prevailing realities within the party structure and his desire to continue pursuing his political aspirations and commitment to public service in an atmosphere that guarantees inclusiveness, stability and progressive engagement.

The development was confirmed in a statement issued by his Special Adviser, Media and Public Affairs, Tolu Mustapha.

Olajide noted that since joining the PDP, he had committed himself wholeheartedly to the growth and electoral success of the party, which culminated in his emergence and re-election as a member of the House of Representatives.

The lawmaker expressed appreciation to the leadership and members of the party across various levels for the support, trust and opportunities extended to him during his stay in the PDP.

“I remain profoundly grateful to the leadership and members of the party across all levels for the support, trust and opportunities extended to me over the years,” he stated.

He further stressed that his resignation was taken in good faith and without bitterness, adding that he still holds members of the party in high esteem and would continue to value the relationships built over the years.
