Akinyele Chairman Applauds Gov. Makinde for Landmark Agro-Business Achievement In Ijaye.
The Executive Chairman of Akinyele Local Government, Hon Akinwole Akinleye has lauded the Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for the successful establishment of the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zone (SAPZ) in Ijaye town, a strategic community within Akinyele L.G.A.
Speaking during a recent official ground breaking held at Ijaye, the Chairman described the SAPZ project as a monumental achievement that will transform the agricultural landscape of Oyo State, while positioning Akinyele as a major hub for agro-industrial development in Nigeria.
> Hon Akinleye further stressed that the groundbreaking project is a clear testimony to Governor Makinde’s commitment to inclusive and sustainable economic growth through agriculture. The location of the Special Agro Processing Zone in Ijaye will bring enormous benefits to our people — from job creation and youth empowerment to improved infrastructure and increased investment inflow.
He commended the Governor’s foresight in aligning Oyo State with global standards in agro-business development and ensuring the state’s active participation in the federal SAPZ initiative, supported by the African Development Bank (AfDB) ,other international partners and investors.
The council boss, wholeheartedly appreciate this gesture and assure the Governor of our unwavering support. This is not just an investment in infrastructure; it is an investment in the future of our farmers, our youth, and our economy.
The SAPZ is a flagship agricultural development project designed to provide integrated infrastructure for agro-processing, storage, logistics, and value addition.
With Ijaye serving as a key location, the project is expected to stimulate rural transformation and strengthen food systems across the state.
In attendance are: Vice president Senator Kazem Shetima, Oyo state Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde, deputy Governor ,Barr Bayo Lawal, President Africa development Bank of Agriculture, Dr.Akinwumi Adesina, Minister of Agriculture, Rt. Hon. Debo Ogundoyin Speaker OYSHA, including Onijaye of ijaye land.
Others are the local Government Vice chairman, Hon. Sakiru Akintunde, Chief of staff to chairman, Hon.Abideen Aderinwale, leader of Legislative Arm, Hon.
