Aggrieved Youths Distort Eid el Kabir Prayer In Eruwa

By: Adejoju Adeyemi

Muslim faithfuls were on Friday forced out of prayer ground situated near ERUWA motor park by an aggrieved group, using dangerous weapons.

Our correspondent, Adejoju Adeyemi reports that the development was as a result of the tussle over the position of Eruwa Chief Imam which began shortly in 2015, after the passing away of Alh Yakub Adesina, the immediate past Chief Imam.

The process to select and appoint a new Chief Imam began and Alh. Kareem Abdulsalam also known as Olore reportedly emerged as the Chief Imam but the eligibility was challenged by Alh. Mudashir Adedeji and Alh Dauda Ajiibi at the law court where the matter was strucked out.

It was gathered that the past and newly appointed Oyo state commissioner of Police intervened to the lingering crises and summoned the aspirants and Eruwa stakeholders over the matter but later handed the issue over to Eruwa Council Of Elders for amicable settlement and allow peace to reign.

Thinking that the battle is over, as the Muslim worshippers prepared to worship at the Central prayer ground, Eruwa, which was supposed to be led by Alh Kareem AbdulSalam Olore , the aggrieved youths emerged with dangerous weapons to distort the exercise.
