ADC Crises: Makinde Can’t Stop Making the Jest of Himself || By David Oluokun

If the All Progressives Congress, APC accepted its own self-inflicted loss a few years ago in Zamfara State without blaming PDP or late former President Buhari, why should ADC not accept the outcome of a pure legal matter without without blaming Tinubu?

I watched a video where Governor Seyi Makinde, of an unknown and decapitated APM party, was blaming Tinubu for the court ruling on ADC. I laughed and zoomed off, because he did not sound like a governor at all. He sounded like an ordinary citizen whose preoccupation is to sell ancestral lands and monuments to his cronies and use the illicit proceeds to fund his dead-on-arrival presidential ambition, aside from the huge state resources being wasted on his Ikolaba presidency.

When APC lost the whole of Zamfara State over court judgement that produced candidates of APC, who did they blame? Why are you people blaming Tinubu for ADC’s problem? Should Tinubu help the judiciary to do its job?

Let me remind Governor Makinde; on the 24th May 2019, the Supreme Court nullified victories of all APC candidates in Zamfara — governorship, 3 Senate seats, 7 House of Reps seats, 24 State Assembly seats — because APC did not conduct valid primaries. The votes were declared wasted votes and PDP, who came second, took over. Nobody blamed anyone. So why the noise by Makinde?

The ADC problem remains the party’s wound. It was caused by ADC’s own internal disobedience, impunity and failure to follow its constitution and the Electoral Act. The court only interpreted the law. President Tinubu did not write ADC’s constitution for them. President Tinubu did not conduct their faulty congresses for them. President Tinubu did not file their defective papers for them.

If you fail to put your house in order, you cannot turn around to blame the President for your own mess.

Makinde should be ashamed. A sitting governor reducing himself to a street commentator, peddling conspiracy theories instead of providing leadership in Oyo State, is a disgrace to the office he occupies.

Instead of chasing shadows junketing around in Abuja without purpose and blaming Tinubu for everything, Makinde should face Oyo State. Face the ₦7.6 billion Eruwa and Akufo farm loan. Face the unpaid Medical workers in State’s varsity. Face the dilapidated schools and hospitals. Face the ancestral lands he is allegedly selling.

President Tinubu is not the judiciary. Tinubu is not INEC. Tinubu is not ADC’s National Chairman.

ADC should go and settle its internal crisis like a serious party, the same way APC swallowed the bitter pill of Zamfara in 2019 and moved on.

Makinde cannot continue to make jest of himself. Oyo people deserve a governor, not a comedian.
