An accident has allegedly claimed life of one person with five others seriously injured at Eleyele round about, Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.
An eyewitness, Mr Olatunde Aroyemu said the commercial DAF truck with registration number DTN328XC loaded with granite lost control and crashed into people selling wares at the entrance of a park.
He explained further that the truck also rammed into some waiting passengers in the park leaving many others injured.
Radio Nigeria gathered that the driver of the truck fled the scene of the accident to prevent being mobbed.
Confirming the accident, the Oyo State public relations officer , Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Mayowa Odewo said the accident which occured at 11. 35 am of Wednesday affected six persons.
He explained that five people were seriously injured while a female lost her life in the accident
Mr Odewo said further that two other vehicles were involved in the accident .
