Suspect Runs Out Of Luck In Ilora After Failed Attempt To Snatch Motorcycle

A suspected criminal who specializes in snatching motorcycle has met his waterloo in Ilora, Afiojio local government of Oyo state.

Newsarena.ng gathered that the suspect who was on Wednesday carried by a commercial motorcyclist, with the name Jacob Olaoye, attacked the rider with machete with the intention of stealing the “bike”.

Report says the commercial motorcyclist narrowly escaped death during the attempt, but managed to prevent his bike from being taken away by the suspect who later escaped into the bush.

It was gathered that one of the suspected criminals soon ran out of luck when a vigilante team attached to Afijio local council smoked him out of hiding and brought him to Ilora.

The Okada rider was said to have been taken to a private hospital in the town for medical attention while the suspect who identified himself as Sulaimon Rabiu, a farm worker from Kebbi state has been handed over to police monitoring unit at Durbar, Oyo.

Confirming the arrest and handing over to a community reporter, Kayode Oguntona in Oyo town, one of the vigilantes who pleaded anonymity said effort was being intensified to arrest other fleeing suspect.

Commenting on the incident which has become rampant with loss of lives in Oyo town and environ, a resident, Mr Olu Adeniran blamed the situation on reluctance to say something by some people when they see something, saying the arrested suspect was believed to be working for a syndicate in the area.
