Lagos-Ibadan Expressway: Oyo, Ogun Police Commands Map Out Strategy To Curb Kidnapping

Mr. Adebowale Williams, the Commissioner of Police of Oyo State, has reaffirmed his command’s dedication to eliminating all undesirable criminal elements from the state and its surroundings.

CP Williams made this known during a working visit to the LAGOS/SAGAMU/SAPADE/ONIGARI AXIS AND ENVIRONS to forestall activities of criminal elements.

The police commissioner in a statement who went with his counterpart from Ogun State, CP Lanre Bankole, said the visit was necessary in order to prevent future criminal activity along the highway.

He said both Commissioners  embarked on a strategic assessment patrol and eventual deployment of assets around areas concerned to allay the fear of the public who ply the road.

Mr. Williams added that both Commands’ security architectures had also been purposefully changed with the assistance of neighboring state police commands in order to deal effectively with criminal elements who planned to utilize both States as a haven for their activities after being driven out.

Therefore, he cautioned the general public against panicking or becoming agitated because sufficient tactical and operational assets would be visible swarming the axis and beginning joint intelligence-led surveillance, aggressive patrols with neighboring states, combing of forests alongside local hunters and vigilantes, and permanent visibility policing measures intensified along the busy highways.
