Police Call For Calm As Tension Builds In Osun Over Court Judgement On LG Dispute 

The Osun Police Command has called for calm following the rising tension across the State, in view of the recent judgement delivered by the Federal High Court sitting in Osogbo over the local government dispute.


‎The State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ibrahim Gotan made the call in a statement signed by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Mr.Abiodun Ojelabi.

‎According to Mr. Gotan, the Command is closely monitoring the conduct, statements, and actions of all parties involved.

‎He maintained that there is a legal laid down procedure for the execution of court judgements with due consideration to right of appeal.

‎The State Police Commissioner who explained that, The rule of law remained the foundation of a democratic society urged all parties involved to strictly comply with the established legal procedures when seeking to enforce judgements.

‎He cautioned that the command would not tolerate lawlessness and extrajudicial actions that would jeopardize the long existing peace of the state, hence would not hesitate to take decisive action against any individual or group that attempts to violate the law.

‎Mr. Gotan advised all political actors, their supporters, and the general public to remain calm, law-abiding, and maintain peace.
