Hijrah 1448AH: Embrace Peace, Sacrifice – Oyo APC Guber Candidate, Alli Urges Muslims

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Senator(Dr) Sharafadeen Alli, has congratulated Muslims in Oyo State and across Nigeria on the commencement of the Islamic New Year, Hijrah 1448AH.


Senator Alli, in a statement issued in Ibadan on Tuesday, described the Hijrah celebration as a solemn reminder of the virtues of sacrifice, perseverance, faith and total submission to the will of Allah.

The APC candidate urged the Muslim Ummah to use the occasion to pray fervently for peace, security, unity and economic stability in Oyo State and the country at large.

The lawmaker said the migration of Prophet Muhammad from Mecca to Medina symbolises courage, resilience and hope in the face of trials, noting that Nigerians must draw lessons from the historic event.

According to him, the nation is currently passing through difficult socio-economic and security challenges which require collective responsibility, sincere leadership and unwavering prayers from all citizens.

Senator Alli also called on political leaders at all levels to govern with justice, fairness and compassion, stressing that leadership must always prioritise the welfare and security of the people above personal interests.

He appealed to residents of Oyo State to continue to support efforts aimed at promoting peaceful coexistence, religious harmony and sustainable development across the state.
