The Executive Chairman of Ido Local Government, Hon. Sheriff Aderemi Adeojo, has flagged off the distribution of Phase 1 of the Omituntun 2.0 free school bags to pupils from some public primary schools in the local government.

The event, held at the Local Government Hall, showed the administration’s unwavering commitment to educational advancement and community welfare.

Speaking at the ceremony, Hon. Sheriff Adeojo emphasized that the initiative aims to welcome pupils back to school, provide relief to parents by reducing expenses on educational materials, and reaffirm his administration’s dedication to education.

“Investing in education remains a top priority of my administration for our community development,” the Chairman stated.
He promised further support for pupils’ education in Ido Local Government.
Pupils from the following eight public primary schools benefited from the distribution: St. James Primary School, Alaho; Baptist Primary School, Ateere; Community Primary School, Alakaso; IDC Primary School, Olokogboro; Community Primary School, Onifufu; IDC primary School, Seeni and Community Primary School,Abule Ayo.
In her remarks, Mrs. Busola Adedeji, Head of School Services Section in Ido Local Government, who represented the Education Secretary Alhaji Mumeen Bukola, expressed profound appreciation to the Executive Chairman.
“Despite his numerous laudable programmes and ongoing support for local pupils, our chairman still do this” she stated. She further commended the initiative, noting that the school bags would greatly aid pupils and motivate them in their studies.
She urged sons and daughters of Ido Local Government to rally behind Hon. Sheriff Adeojo, emphasizing that supporting education is a collective responsibility.
Miss Farida Biliaminu, a pupil from IDC Primary School representing her peers, and Mr. Ojekunle, one of the head teachers, also appreciated the Executive Chairman for the gesture. They prayed for continued wisdom and strength in his leadership.
The event drew key government officials, including Alhaji Kamorudeen Gbadamosi, Secretary to the Local Government; Hon. Nureni Wahab Keke, Supervisory Councillor for Environment; Hon. Fakayode Kazeem Oladimeji, Supervisory Councillor for Youths and Sports; Alhaji Sarafadeen Aminu, Head of Local Government Administration; Mr. Victor Adelu, Director of Administration and General Services; Mrs. Ganiyat Durodola, Director of Education (ably represented by her deputy, Mrs. Latifat Adeagbo); and head teachers from the seven beneficiary schools, among others.
