A lone trailer has caused a major traffic disruption on the Ibadan -Iseyin road after it reportedly skidded off the roadway earlier today.
Radio Nigeria correspondent who witnessed the incident reports that it occurred at dangerous spot of the road around Ojedeji area characterized by a steep slope and a sharp bend, making it highly susceptible to accidents, especially for heavy-duty vehicles.
The trailer, which lost control while navigating the slope, ended up obstructing the entire carriageway, leaving commuters and motorists stranded on both sides.
As of the time of filing this report, no vehicle has been able to pass through the affected section, resulting in a significant traffic gridlock stretching several kilometers.
Passengers, commercial drivers, and transport operators have expressed frustration over the prolonged standstill and the absence of immediate intervention.
They said the situation needed swift action by relevant authorities such as Federal Road Safety Corps, the Nigeria Police Force, and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.
