Ibadan Born Jola Omotoso, Others, Inaugurated As 6th Nigerian Youth Parliament In Abuja

The 6th Nigerian Youth Parliament has been officially inaugurated, marking a significant milestone in the country’s efforts to empower its youth.

The inauguration ceremony, held at the National Assembly Complex, brought together young visionaries from across Nigeria, eager to make their mark on the country’s future.

Speaking at the event, Minister for Youth Development, Hon. Olawande Emmanuel Ayodele emphasized the importance of the youth parliamentarians being ambassadors for their peers, maximizing opportunities for change, and prioritizing their interests.

“This call to action resonated deeply with the young leaders, who are determined to drive progress and development in their respective communities.

Shortly after inauguration, Dr. Jola Omotoso, representing Oyo South Senatorial District, expressed gratitude to key stakeholders, including Governor Seyi Makinde’s, Commissioner for youths and sports, Miss Wasilat Adegoke, and President Ashiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for their support and trust in the youth parliamentarians.

The Nigerian Youth Parliament, established in 2008, provides a platform for young people to engage in legislative and developmental training, strengthening their leadership capacity and potentials.² With 109 members representing all senatorial districts in Nigeria, the parliament is poised to play a vital role in shaping the country’s future.

As the 6th session of the Nigerian Youth Parliament commences, the young leaders are ready to take on the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead, driven by their passion for progress and commitment to serving their communities.
