NUJ FRCN Press Week: Niran Adeyoju “SDM” Salutes Journalists’ Dedication, Pledges Continued Support For Media

Chairman SDM group of company and president, Providence Coalition, a socio-political group in Oyo state, Prince Niran Adeyoju, SDM, has saluted the hard work and dedication of journalists, acknowledging their roles in shaping public opinion and fostering national development.

Prince Adeyoju, represented by the publicity secretary, Providence Coalition, Elder David Oluokun gave the commendation while addressing members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ FRCN Ibadan chapel during an award giving ceremony for some outstanding personalities in the society.

Newsarena.ng reports that the award ceremony was part of a week long activities marking the annual press week of the union.

Awards were presented to Hon. Remi Oseni as Best Performing House of Representatives Member of the year 2024, Sen. Abdulfatai Buhari as Outstanding Senator of the year 2024, Dr Mrs Florence Ajimobi as NUJ FRCN Ibadan personality of the year 2024, Yeye Dr Folashade Shona as Philanthropist of the year 2024

Prince Adeyoju who doubles as the patron of NUJ FRCN Ibadan chapel highlighted the importance of journalism in promoting transparency, democracy, and accountability, especially in the face of current global challenges.

“I am proud of the work being done by members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists here in FRCN Ibadan,” Prince Adeyoju said.

“Your commitment to delivering unbiased news and educating the public is commendable. In these times when the media is often under scrutiny, you stand as beacons of truth and integrity.”

Prince Adeyoju also used the opportunity to pledge his continued support for the media community, emphasizing the need for adequate resources and training to help journalists navigate the rapidly changing media landscape.

The philanthropist urged media practitioners to remain steadfast in their mission to serve the public with accuracy, fairness, and professionalism.

Prince Adeyoju however congratulated the award recipients for their dedication and outstanding performances to nation building and humanity.

Earlier in a welcome address, the chairman, NUJ FRCN Ibadan Chapel, Comrade Oluwakayode Banjo said the press week remains a significant occasion for celebrating the invaluable contributions of members to the society, reaffirming the media’s pivotal role in nation-building and appreciating God for a successful year.
