Bimbo Adekanbi, Alli, Fowokanmi, Pst Ashimolowo, 10 Others Bag Solutions FM Awards

It was an exciting moment of joy, bond and reflection on people’s outstanding contributions to humanity, the political space and careers as some individuals bagged different categories of awards at the maiden edition of Solutions FM Award night.

The ceremony held at Aweni Arena, owned by Chairman and CEO, Solutions FM, Chief Taofeek Adegboyega Adegoke, FCA, situated in the earth of Oke Ado, Ibadan, had in attendance captains of industry, political big wigs, prominent personalities as well as sons and daughters of Ibadan land.

At the special award night, former Oyo state commissioner for Finance and chairman, Ibadan Airport Upgrade project, Hon Abimbola Adekanbi, alongside Engineer Femi Alao bagged Man of Honour Awards while Oyo Assembly Lawmaker representing Ibadan Southwest constituency 2, Hon Oluwafemi Fowokanmi received Outstanding Member of the Oyo state House Of Assembly Award.

Others are Senator representing Oyo south, Barrister Sharafadeen Alli, Best Senator Of The Year Award; Member, House Of Reps’ for Ido/Ibarapa constituency, Hon Aderemi Oseni, Best Federal Honourable Of The Year Award and Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo, Philanthropist Of The Year Award.

Other award recipients in the Philanthropist of The Year Award category included Dr. Akande Kazeem, Adedokun Adeolu Atanda (Triple A) while Otunba Olabamiji Temitope and Gbadamosi Rilwan Abiodun bagged Awards of Excellence.

However, in a move to inspire and commend his immense contributions to humanity and media profession, Solutions FM conferred the Leadership Award on its chairman, Oloye Adegboyega Taofeek Adegoke while his wife, Princess Yetunde bagged Mother Of The Year Award.

Speaking with journalists shortly after receiving his award, Hon Abimbola Adekanbi said despite his style of making impact in the background, the radio station acknowledged his little efforts, pledging to do more for the society.

He said “I want to thank Solutions FM for this award, it’s a recognition that whatever you’re doing, someone is watching. Let’s do our things in our little corner, don’t wait for government, let’s try to do our bit”

Also speaking, Oyo state house of assembly member, Hon. Olufemi Oluwafowokanmi also emphasized the need for people to always give the best in whatever they do, noting that “you will wonder that people are really watching you, and this is a sign that if you’re doing well, people watch you, that’s why I look for avenue to be a blessing to our people which I’ve been doing and I’ll continue to do”

He said “in any position you find yourself, it’s a privilege to serve, do it wholeheartedly, and bear in mind that there is a record for every activity you’re doing and aspire to be a blessing, let men be lifted through you”

Earlier, the Chairman/CEO Solutions FM 93.9 and Aweni Arena, Oloye Adegboyega Taofeek Adegoke FCA, who said the award ceremony would be an annual event said it is part of the uniqueness of the radio station in the media industry.

While appealing to well to do individuals to always give back to the society, Oloye Adegoke said his philanthropic gesture was borne out of passion to assist the less privileged which was informed by his humble beginning

“Each time I look back, and I remember how I grow up, what I passed through, how I was my own mentor, each time I remember, right from primary to secondary to A level, to University, it was tough because I wasn’t born with a silver spoon, I’ll always like to give back to the society”
