Lagos Business School Sustainability Centre, in partnership with Youth Sustainability Network and Climate Emerge Innovation Development (CEID Hub), hosted a sustainability forum aimed at empowering Nigerian youth for innovation, impact, and leadership.
The forum which took place concurrently in Lagos, Abuja, and Oyo State for the first time has its theme as “Youth Resilience: Adapting, Thriving, and Leading.”
During the forum, Engr Ademola Adrinto, Special adviser on environment to Oyo State Governor, encouraged participants to seek innovative solutions to societal problems and emphasized the importance of creating value in every environment.
In a keynote address, Dr. Oluwafemi Olarewanju highlighted the need for youth resilience in the face of various challenges like economic uncertainty, unemployment, mental health issues, political instability, globalization and migration.
He also cited examples of young innovators and startups worldwide, underscoring the significant contribution of individuals aged 18-35 to the global entrepreneurial landscape.
Sope Afolayan the founder of CEID Hub founder spoke about focus of CEID Hub to build a community of young green changemakers, providing capacity building for them to be green innovators and prepare them for a green future.
The forum also had Panel sessions on how youth entrepreneurship can serve as a driver for sustainability and the tools that can drive a positive impact.
