The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo state has lamented the death of the lawmaker representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Honorable Musiliu Olaide Akinremi, describing the news of his demise as a great loss to the party, Ibadanland and Nigeria as a whole.
Akinremi who reportedly died in Abuja at the early hours of Wednesday was serving his second term in office as a member of the Green Chamber.
He was a member of the All Progressives Congress Caretaker/Extra Ordinary Convention Planning Committee headed by the Yobe state governor, Alhaji Mai Mala Buni.
In a statement issued on Wednesday and made available to journalists in Ibadan by its Publicity Secretary, Olawale Sadare, Oyo APC said that Akinremi’s death happened at a time he was needed most by his Constituents, the National Assembly and the society as a whole.
“Prince Akinremi’s demise is a death too many as he means so much to our great Party even in death. It was him who redefined representation at the National Assembly to give relief and hope to the people of Ibadan North Federal Constituency. He was the face of responsible and responsive leadership with many achievements in his record.
“The Barr. Isaac Omodewu-led State Executive Committee as well as the entire members and supporters of the APC have lost a wonderful party man and a colourful politician who left an indelible footprints on the sands of time. The vacuum he left behind will be extremely difficult to fill but we find solace in the legacy of kindness, philanthropy and service to the people which he was able to implant on the surface of the earth.” Sadare added.
Similarly, Senator Sharafadeen Alli (APC-Oyo South) has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Rep. Musiliu Olaide Akinremi (APC-Ibadan North federal constituency)
Senator Alli described the death of Akinremi as a significant loss to the nation, family, APC, friends and the entire political landscape of Oyo State as well as Nigeria as a whole.
Alli lauded Akinremi’s dedication to public service, commitment to the welfare of his constituents and tireless efforts in representing Ibadan North federal constituency.
“Rep. Musiliu Olaide Akinremi was a beacon of hope and a pillar of strength for many.
“His passion for improving the lives of those he served was evident in his numerous initiatives and projects aimed at fostering development and uplifting the underprivileged.
“His demise is a great loss that leaves a void in our hearts and in the annals of our political history.”
The lawmaker extended heartfelt condolences to Akinremi’s family, Federal House of Representatives, National Assembly, APC friends, and the people of Ibadan North local government.
He urged them to find solace in the remarkable legacy of service and integrity that Akinremi left behind.
“In this time of grief, may we draw strength from his exemplary life and continue to uphold the values he stood for,” he added.
As the news of his passing resonates across the nation, Alli called for prayers and support for Akinremi’s family during this challenging period.
