New Elempe Of Tapa Gets Staff of Office, Promises To Prioritize People’s Welfare

The Elempe of Tapa in Ibarapa North Local Government area of Oyo state has received staff and instrument of office as the 12th Elempe of Tapa and the first Elempe to wear a beaded crown.
The event which came up at the playground of Tapa Community High School, Tapa pulled a large crowd of people from nooks and crannies of the state as well as people from all walks of life.
Oba Sunday Titiloye who retired as a Senior Nurse under Oyo state Hospital Management Board before his nomination as Elempe of Tapa.
In his acceptance speech , Oba Titiloye expressed his gratitude to the governor of Oyo state Engineer Seyi Makinde for approving his coronation and presentation of Staff of Office on time.
He therefore promised to use the opportunity of the throne to build a strong and reliable network between the government of Oyo state and the people of Tapa Community.
Shortly after the coronation, governor Seyi Makinde implored Oba Titiloye to cooperate with other Ibarapa Royal fathers to fight social vices among the youths and strive hard in moving his community forward.
The governor who was represented by his Deputy Barrister Bayo Lawal told the new monarch to see his coming to the throne as a priviledge and always be ready to listen to his people and serve them.
Speaking on behalf of other Ibarapa Royal fathers, the Olu of Igboora, Oba Olajide Titiloye expressed his joy and delight over the coronation of Elempe, saying it will add more to the developmental value of Ibarapa land in general and Tapa community in particular.
When speaking with Pressmen, one of the community leaders, Comrade Ololade Shitu said the nomination of Oba Sunday Titiloye as Elempe is by merit and timely noting that as a retired public servant, he will use his past experience to drive Tapa community rightly and encourage the youths to embrace education which is the bedrock to community development.
