Alhaji Idris Ajimobi, the Aare Akogun Muslumi of Oyo State and son of the immediate past governor of the state, Abiola Ajimobi, has on Friday sent his congratulations to the Muslim Ummah in Oyo State as they joined their counterpart across the globe to celebrate the start of the Islamic new year, 1444 AH.
In a statement by his media assistant, Alade Lateef, Ajimobi said “it was appropriate to take this opportunity to express gratitude to Allah for giving us the opportunity to experience the new year.”
“This is a privilege for us as individuals and as a community of the faithful and deserves gratitude to Allah.
I urged Muslims and other residents to internalize the lesson of compassion, peace, and support for one another on the occasion of the Islamic new year and the Hijrah observance.
“A blessed year is what I want for every Muslim in Oyo State and in Nigeria.”
