Oyo state governor, engineer Seyi Makinde has been commended for approving the appointment of three monarchs in Igbeti, Olorunsogo local government area of Oyo State.
The newly appointed monarchs are Prince Bashir Olalekan Abioye as the next Onigbeti of Igbeti Land, Chief Fatai Surajudeen Olapoju as the Elemosho of Igbeti Land designate and chief Bashir Bello as Olonko of Igbeti Land designate
Former Oyo assembly lawmaker and PDP Chairmanship candidate in the forthcoming local government election in Oyo state, Hon. Qozeem Olayanju gave the commendation during a visit to the traditional rulers in Igbeti.
In a statement made available to newsmen, Hon Olayanju said governor Makinde’s commitment to peaceful transition from one reign of traditional era to another, was worthy of emulation by other state governors across the country.
He said the appointment of the three monarchs in Igbeti Land was a welcome development which he believed will bring unprecedented development in the area.
He said “I want to commend Governor Seyi Makinde for his decisive role in making the appointment seemless, Your commitment to justice, unity, and the cultural heritage of igbetiland is truly commendable”.
While congratulating the newly appointed monarchs, Hon. Olayanju appealed to the traditional rulers to uphold the custom and tradition of the land, using their passion, wisdom and network to bring desired development to Igbeti.
He also called on Igbeti sons and daughters, both within Nigeria and in diaspora to be committed to progress of the town by contributing meaningful to socio-economic development of Igbeti.
