7th Elekuro Day: Elekuro Devt. Association Honours Oyo APC Chieftain, Fola Akinosun
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Oyo state, Dr. Fola Akinosun has commended the Elekuro Development Association for its contributions to making the society a better place through its community development initiatives.
Dr. Akinosun gave the commendation after receiving the Philanthropic Education Man of the Year award presented to him by the association, alongside four other prominent sons and daughters of Ibadan land, during the 7th Elekuro Day, held at Wesley College, Elekuro.
The educationist and grassroots politician who was represented by a delegation of APC loyalists from Ibadan Southeast, led by Hon Olaojo Abiodun Musbau, praised the executive and members of the Elekuro Development association for giving back to the society and promoting peace and unity in their communities.
While appreciating the association for recognizing his contributions to the education system and Ibadan land, Dr. AKINOSUN expressed gratitude to all APC loyalists who represented him on the occasion, pledging his continued support to the association and APC at all times.
Dr. AKINOSUN who said the award will spur him to do more for humanity, said his determination to give back to the less privileged and sponsor indigents students in Ibadan and others across the country was borne out of his passion for youth empowerment and a better Nigeria.
AKINOSUN who reemphasized the need for synergy in national development, however donated cash gifts to the association and scholarship opportunities for children of the association’s members
Other prominent personalities that accompanied Alhaji Olaojo to receive the award on behalf of Dr Akinosun include Hon. Kola Amoo, Hon Akin Alli, Hon Tajudeen Asanike, Hon Taiwo Ige, Alh Tajudeen Balogun, Chief Ademola Adeyemo, Hon Kaseem Muse.
Others are Alh Tijani Rafiu, Hon Adegbola Kaseem, Hon Babayemi Oladele, Hon Olaoye Alliu, Alh Adeyemi Ganiyu and others.
Also in attendance at the occasion were Oyo south APC senatorial chairman, Hon. Mojeed Olaoya, prominent indigenes of Elekuro Area, the Mogajis and the Baales around the community while Alhaji Rasheed Ayinde, the Fuji Merenge King entertain guests on the occasion
