The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State has intensified calls for unity, genuine reconciliation and grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general election.

State APC Chairman, Chief Moses Adeyemo on Thursday in Ibadan, declared that the party could no longer afford division after spending eight years in opposition in Oyo State.

The party formally unveiled Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli as governorship candidate and Hon. Adesoji Michael Adedeji as deputy-governorship candidate before party leaders, stakeholders and supporters in Ibadan.

Also, Hon. Gbenga Olayemi, APC Deputy National Auditor, formally presented the Independent National Electoral Commission nomination certificate to Senator Alli during the colourful gathering.

The presentation marked APC’s renewed determination to reclaim Oyo State through unity, discipline, strategic engagement and aggressive grassroots mobilisation across the state.
Adeyemo urged aggrieved members and stakeholders to embrace sincere reconciliation and collective sacrifice toward reclaiming power from the ruling party in the 2027 election.
He appealed to residents and party faithful to vote massively for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all APC candidates during the general election nationwide.
According to him, President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda has continued to inspire confidence through economic reforms, national development initiatives and democratic stability across the country.
In his acceptance speech, Senator Alli described his emergence as APC governorship candidate as collective victory for all stakeholders and loyal party members across Oyo State.
He expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah and APC faithful across 351 wards and 33 local government areas for their overwhelming support during the gubernatorial primary election.
Alli commended the APC National Working Committee, security agencies, women, youths, media professionals and National Assembly members for ensuring peaceful and transparent conduct throughout the exercise.
The senator also appreciated President Tinubu for demonstrating inspiring leadership and commitment toward economic transformation, political stability and democratic progress across Nigeria.
The governorship candidate extended hands of fellowship to fellow aspirants and aggrieved members, urging cooperation, reconciliation and collective dedication toward rebuilding APC ahead of the 2027 election.
He promised people-oriented governance prioritising agriculture, education, healthcare, infrastructure, youth empowerment, economic prosperity, accountability, justice and improved welfare for residents across the state.
Dignitaries present included Senator Ayoade Adeseun, Senator Olufemi Lanlehin, Senator Hosea Agboola and Senator Yunus Akintunde.
Others included Chief Mrs Hannah Ogunesan, Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle, Asiwaju Yemi Aderibigbe, Chief Wasiu Ajimobi and Hon. Ayodeji Abass-Aleshinloye at the gathering.
Also present were Chief Akin Oke, Alhaji Olayide Abas, Chief Alarape Jolaoso, Alhaji Abu Gbadamosi, Alhaji Kamoru Ajisafe and Alhaji Muftau Adisa Gbayawu.
The event equally attracted APC senatorial candidates, Yunus Akintunde (Oyo Central), Aderemi Oseni (Oyo South), Hannah Ogunesan (Oyo North), the 14 House of Representatives candidates and 32 Assembly candidates.
