In an effort to retain power in Oyo state in 2027 and beyond, Stakeholders in the People’s Democratic Party, PDP across Ibarapa East Local Government has held an all inclusive political meeting at Damola Event Center, Orita, Eruwa on Friday.
In attendance at the meeting were; Rt(Hon) Adebo Edward Ogundoyin, Speaker of Oyo State House of Assembly/Chairman, Nigeria Conference of Speakers; Hon. Wasilat Adegoke, Oyo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports; Hon. Kazeem Owolabi Arogundade, Executive Chairman of Ibarapa East Local Government; Hon. Oluyemi Adewale Taiwo; Hon. Jacob Olalowo; Hon. Oladimeji Oladapo (Vanguard); Hon. Ojuawo; Hon. Biodun Olabiyi; Hon. Kamorudeen Adeyemi; Hon(Mrs) Rachael Oyenike Azeez; Alh. Sikiru Adebisi, Party Chairman; Alh. Waheed Adekunle; Alh. Kasali Olatunji; Com. Seun Ololade (Arelu), Personal Assistant to Oyo Speaker; Evang. Dele Olaito and many party stalwarts in the council.
The objective of the meeting was to demonstrate the party’s unity so as to strategize ahead of 2027 general elections.
The pertinent meeting gave room for an opportunity to evaluate its position for improvement across the ten wards and to employ a synergy towards the future polls.
Speaking at the meeting, the Speaker of Oyo State House of Assembly who doubles as Chairman, Nigeria Conference of Speakers, Rt (Hon) Adebo Edward Ogundoyin commended the party members for their steadfastness and pleaded with them to continue to be loyal to the party.
Hon Ogundoyin stressed on the need to mobilize people who are eligible to vote but yet to collect their Permanent Voters Card to avail the opportunity of continuous voters registration, saying the party was targeting to have at least one thousand new eligible voters from each ward of the council, adding that no room for APC governance in Oyo State.
The Chairman, Nigeria Conference of Speakers while speaking on the forthcoming party congress advised the members to agree with one voice and present a candidate based on the zoning arrangement.
“No imposition, no double list, no parallel congress, I will support the majority, Hon Ogundoyin declared.
The Oyo Speaker used the medium to pass the message of His Excellency, Gov. Seyi Makinde to the people of Ibarapa East that ” PDP is one.”
In her address, the Oyo State Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Hon. Wasilat Adegoke urged members of PDP in Ibarapa East to remain focus and unite so that the party could continue to rule in Oyo State.
While addressing the august gathering,the Executive Chairman of Ibarapa East Local Government,Hon. Kazeem Owolabi Arogundade encouraged party members to love one another. The council boss explained that love was the hallmark of everything, saying development could only exist in an atmosphere of love.
Hon. Arogundade assured the residents of Ibarapa East Local Government that in a very short time,roads would be tarred with asphalt and there would be more appreciable projects execution across the council areas.
The council helmsman highlighted few of the projects his administration had embarked upon which ranged from rehabilitation of damaged portion of Ipin River; Asphalt tarring of Oyo State College of Education,Lanlate road; Ongoing renovation of Eleruwa palace and Ongoing rehabilitation of box culverlt at Lanlate.
