2023:Vote From Your Hearts – Ajimobi Charges Youths………….as Barcelona Wins 2nd Abiola Ajimobi Memorial Football Competition
Son of former Governor of Oyo State, Idris Abiola-Ajimobi has called on youths in the country to participate massively in next year’s General elections.
Idris Abiola-Ajimobi made the call in an interview with newsmen during the final of the 2022 Isaq Abiola Ajimobi Memorial football competition held at African Church Grammar school field, Apata, Ibadan.
Idris, who is contesting for the Ibadan Southwest 2 state constituency seat at the Oyo State House of Assembly under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, charged the youths to be fully involved in next year’s polls and vote for their choice candidates.
“You need to participate. We all have a voice in this nation and we need to use it at some point. I’m not saying who you should vote for, but you must vote. Don’t just sell your votes, don’t give your votes away and vote your choice, vote from your heart”
Speaking on the competition, Idris Abiola-Ajimobi said it was organized to honour his late father, who left an indelible mark on the state.
He disclosed that the 2022 competition was the second edition and it would continue to be held annually as a means of meaningfully engaging the youths.
“We are remembering him for the good things he did to us. He was a Father to the whole state, not just to me. We are honouring him and we are also enjoying the game of football. We are here to support the youths, the young players that are playing. They are doing something useful with their time”
Radio Nigeria reports that the final of the 2022 Isaq Abiola Ajimobi Memorial football competition saw Barcelona fans club, Apata zone battle Liverpool fans club, Apata zone.
Barcelona fans club won the game, defeating their opponent by 4 goals to 2.
