2023: Don’t Engage Oyo PMS In Moving Sensitive Materials – NNPP Southwest Leader Cautions INEC
The Southwest leader of the New Nigerian People Party (NNPP), Alhaji Adebisi Olopeyan has cautioned the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Oyo state never to engage the service of Park Management System (PMS) in distribution of elections sensitive materials, just as he said the Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has ruled against it.
Olopoeyan urged the electoral umpire to be neutral and never allow the Governor of the State, Seyi Makinde to compromise its standard by engaging his stooges in Park Management System, and their Vehicles for the distribution of electoral materials come February 25th and March 11th respectively said, the lagos judgment should be applied.
The political leader explained that the credibility of INEC to conduct a free, fair and credible elections in Oyo state will be doubtful, if it allows PMS under the leadership of controversial chairman, Mr. Lamidi Mukaila to distribute sensitive materials.
“There is no reason why Oyo INEC will engage people working for a particular party in the distribution of election material to local government and polling units.
“The Federal High Court in Lagos has granted an injunction restraining the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from using, engaging or further dealing with the Chairman of the Lagos Parks and Garages, Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo or any of his representatives in the distribution of election materials and ad-hoc staff for the forthcoming polls in the state, that is a hint for Oyo INEC too.
” What’s good for the goose is good for the gander, federal high court has stopped INEC from engaging a PMS in the distribution of election materials, so, Oyo INEC also needs to be careful of this in Oyo state, in other not to jeopardize their long effort in giving a free and fair election.
” It will be a bad move if Oyo INEC decided to work with bias body such as PMS on election day. Everybody in Oyo state knows PMS is headed by Auxiliary and they are working for Oyo PDP, INEC is also aware and should know the hazard involve for the Oyo state residents.
