‘We Never Issued Such Statement’ – Alli Campaign Organization Exposes Fake Attack On Adelabu
The campaign organisation of Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, the APC governorship candidate in Oyo State, has disowned a purported statement attacking former Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, describing it as false, fabricated and malicious.
The campaign said neither Senator Alli, his campaign council nor any authorised spokesperson issued the statement circulating in the media, including the claim that Adelabu and his supporters had “only one vote” and that Alli did not need their support to win the 2027 election.
It said the statement was fabricated by political detractors seeking to create tension within the APC and undermine efforts toward unity and victory.
The campaign urged the public, APC stakeholders and media practitioners to disregard unauthorised statements and verify political claims through recognised channels.
“For the avoidance of doubt, the statement attributed to Senator Sharafadeen Alli’s camp is completely false, fabricated and malicious. It did not come from Senator Alli, his campaign organisation or any authorised member of his team,” the campaign said.
It described the alleged attack on Adelabu as inconsistent with Senator Alli’s commitment to unity, reconciliation and strengthening the APC.
The campaign reaffirmed Alli’s focus on party cohesion, stakeholder engagement and mobilising support for the 2027 elections, urging journalists and online publishers to verify statements before publication.
