Three former state governors attended the beginning of the Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential and national assembly campaigns in Ogun State in Abeokuta.
Thousands of party members and supporters withstood the afternoon’s sweltering sun to show their support for Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the PDP’s presidential candidate, and other candidates the party had put out in the state.
During their speeches, several Party officials urged Nigerians to contribute positively to the country’s progress.
Additionally, they warned the populace not to support corrupt and avaricious politicians in the upcoming general elections in 2023.
Former governors Mr. Boni Haruna of Adamawa State, Dr. Babangida Aliu of Niger State, and Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau of Kano State were present during the presidential campaign flag-off.
Speaking during the event, the PDP’s candidates for the Ogun Central Senatorial seat, Mr. Olumide Aderinokun, and the Abeokuta South Federal Constituency seat, Mr. Toyin Amuzu, promised the crowd that if they were elected, the area would receive high-quality representation.
Some defectors from APC, ADC and APM while addressing the crowd at Ogun state PDP secretariat expressed their conviction that PDP has the solutions to challenges facing the country.
