The governorship candidate of All Progressive Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Senator Teslim Folarin, who is also the Asaaju Olubadan of Ibadan land have been commended for donating 500 pieces of executive chairs to Ibadan House Hall, Oke-Aremo.
The N8 million worth of chairs was donated by Folarin towards promotion of cultural value, heritage and activities of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII) and Ibadan land.
Folarin, a three-term Senator representing Oyo Central at the Red Chamber is the candidate of APC in the forthcoming election in the state.
Folarin, before and after joining politics have facilitated many projects and contributed immensely towards the progress and development of Ibadan land.
Some Ibadan residents and the members of CCII noted that no politician have never donated such magnitude to the Ibadan House hall in recent times.
According to the statement, “This is the first time a politician in Oyo State will be giving facelift of that magnitude for the hall in recent years, though politician has been donating for us at Ibadan House, but not as much as this.”
“In 2019, during electioneering campaign, governor Makinde promised to complete the building project of Olubadans palace under construction within a year of assumption of office as the Oyo State governor, but nothing has been done till now.”
Ibadan people however said Folarin’s gesture is well appreciated because he cherished the heritage of Ibadan.
