Protesters Accuse Amotekun For Extra Judicial Killings In Osogbo

Some residents of Oke Bale in Osogbo on Wednesday staged a peaceful protest over the alleged killing of three people by men of the Western Security Network codenamed Amotekun

The protesters who were seen on the street at Bicket area in Osogbo complained that the three people were allegedly killed while selling herbs(agunmu) when men of the Amotekun stormed the place and killed three of them.

The spokesperson for the protesters alleged that men of Amotekun in Osun state were becoming high-handed on innocent harmless citizens of Osun state.

The protesters, while calling for Justice, urged the concerned stakeholders to intervene to seek redress for the victims.

When contacted by the Field marshal, Amotekun,Osun State Mr Shitu Amitolu debunked the news that officers of Amotekun killed any one.

The Amotekun officer explained that the friction which led to some deaths was a fallout of supremacy battle between rival court groups.

While describing as unfortunate the allegations from some quarters that Amotekun was responsible for the death , Amitolu regretted that some hoodlums had vandalized Amotekun’s Property in the state.

He however cautioned the hoodlums to respect the law and stop the attack on the security outfit.
