Counsels to a popular United States R n B singer Robert Kelly, also known as R.Kelly have disclosed that the defendant/client will appeal the court judgement that handed over 30 years jail term for R.Kelly
R.Kelly was on Wenesday sentenced to 30 years in prison by the US District Judge Ann Donnelly over offences of sexual abuse of children and women.
Age 55, R.Kelly was convicted last September in New York of racketeering and sex trafficking crimes.
He had faced years of allegations but the judge on Wednesday said he had an “indifference to human suffering”.
The counsels said the court in its wisdom gave judgment on the sex scandal case but the defendant also have the constitutional rights to appeal the judgement.
They said their client was not satisfied with the court decision.
Ahead of his sentencing, some women took the stand to confront Kelly.
One of them, simply called Angela called the singer a Pied Piper who “grew in wickedness” with every new victim.
Others who claimed anonymity testified against R.Kelly and claimed he had broken their spirits.
Meanwhile, R.Kelly who was Dressed in prison khakis and dark glasses, declined comment on the verdict.
