Three guys have been detained by Ogun State police for reportedly stealing a car in Abeokuta.
Moses Abiodun, Seyi Oyenekan, and Monsuru Majekodunmi are the suspects.
According to a statement released by the State Police spokesperson, Mr. Abimbola Oyeyemi, they were detained on November 9 in response to a complaint made at the Oke-Itoku Police Station by one Olusesi Akingbile, who claimed that his Toyota Carina car, which was parked in his driveway at Ijemo on October 12, 2022, had been stolen by unidentified individuals.
Mr Oyeyemi told newsmen that messages were sent to all police formations in Ogun, asking them to be on the lookout for the missing car.
The police spokesperson further explained that during initial investigations, it was found that the suspect had two other accomplices. He had previously stated that the stolen car was spotted in a mechanic village along the Ajebo Road by police officers assigned to Kemta.
Before the suspects are brought to court, the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Lanre Bankole, has ordered a thorough inquiry into them.
